On Wednesday 14th August we were so lucky to go to The Pioneer Settlement in Swan Hill. We are learning about Australian History: First Fleet and Early Settlement. The day included five activities that we rotated through:

Butter Churning, Black Smithing, Pioneer Laundry, Rope Making and Pioneer Building. We learnt so many new things like: How to do laundry without an automatic machine, how to make butter from just milk, that the nail tips were square, the Black Smith uses an anvil and how to twist the twine to make a rope. Life must have been very hard work in 1770!

We had some rides in the old fashioned car and on the horse and carriage.

Have you been to the Pioneer Settlement?
